Activision And Marvel Together ForeverActivision to Marvel RPG Fans Activision announced today that they have extended their licensing alliance with Marvel Enterprises. This carefully worded agreement will let Activision develop a non-persistent role playing game (RPG) using the tremendous depth of the Marvel Universe. Two weeks ago, Microsoft, acquired the rights to exclusively develop massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) based on the Marvel Universe for the Xbox 360. While no game titles, potential systems or financial terms of this agreement were announced, but the first game under this agreement "is expected to be released in fiscal 2007" suggesting a release on one or many next-gen consoles. "We are proud of the success we have had with games based on the Marvel licenses," states Ron Doornink, Chairman, Activision Publishing. "This agreement further strengthens and helps to solidify our position as the number one publisher of Super Hero games."
