Microsoft And Yahoo Together At Last

Microsoft and Yahoo execs to address GDCE Microsoft’s general manager of Game Developer Group, Chris Satchell, and Yahoo’s director of mobile games, John Cahill, will deliver the keynote speeches for this year’s European Game Developer’s Conference. Based in London, GDCE plays host to a large number of speeches and panels on game development within the industry, with Satchell speaking on the topic of next generation game creation as a prelude to Microsoft’s forthcoming machine, Xbox 360. In GDC’s American counterpart, held in San Francisco this March, Microsoft talked on the issues of delivering new tools to streamline production for future projects, and the relevance of online functionality. Cahill will also address the conference on online aspects, focusing on its potential to integrate with mobile gaming. Conference director of GDC Europe, Jamil Moledina said: "Two challenges game creators face are adapting their technology and team structures for the next generation of console games, and finding innovative ways to migrate their current expertise across mobile, online connections. In keeping with GDC’s tradition of delivering mission-critical guides to emerging trends these two keynotes provide first-hand, practical insights from key industry leaders in exactly how to overcome these challenges." GDC Europe 2005 will run from August 30th through to September 1st.
