QUAKE 4 Multiplayer UnveiledQUAKE 4 Multiplayer Revealed On the eve of this years QuakeCon, Activision announced that the frag-heavy gaming event will showcase both QUAKE 4s multiplayer mode (no huge surprise), as well as an Xbox edition of DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, which hit PCs as an expansion to DOOM 3 earlier this year. Unlike the PC version, the Xbox edition of Resurrection will not require the original game to play. The new DOOM chapter offers more levels, more nasty enemies, new weapons the Grabber and Artifact, and the return of the beloved double-barrel shotgun. Quake fans will be happy, if not exactly shocked, to learn that QUAKE 4 -- in development at Raven Software for PC and Xbox 360 -- will feature the classic multiplayer modes of the franchise. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Arena, CTF and Tournament modes will all be accounted for. Die-hard fans will have a peek at both titles this week. This years QuakeCon, the tenth annual celebration of id Softwares titles, runs August 11-14 in Grapevine, Texas.
