Microsoft Vs. The Japanese ConsumerA new survey of Japanese consumers has shown massive expectation for the launch of PlayStation 3, with Xbox 360 still way behind. The survey, published by Nikkei, revealed that 70% of relevant consumers are "interested in buying PlayStation 3". It also found that 65% of the target audience are excited about next generation consoles and games, compared with just 30% a year ago. Of those consumers who plan to buy a console, 72% are opting for PlayStation 3, 22% for Nintendo Revolution and 6% for Xbox 360. However, its not all bad news for Microsoft. A similar survey in July found that only 2% of consumers were interested in its machine. 60% of prospective PlayStation 3 owners said they will buy the machine even if it costs more than 20,000 yen (about $200) while only 35% of prospective Revolution owners feel the same way.
