Halo 2 Does Not Look That Much Better On Xbox360

Halo 2 on Xbox 360 November 15, 2005 - To provide the answer that most people are pining for, Halo 2 does not look all that much better on an Xbox 360 at 720p. We recently tried out a copy of Halo 2 on an Optoma H78DC3, a 720p native projector and noticed little difference from the Xbox version which we ran at normal resolution on the same screen. And yes, before everyone starts going nuts, we did remember to flip the switch on the X360 component cables to the HD setting. That's not to say there was no difference. The one thing we could make out were much smoother lines at the edges of environmental objects and models. The textures themselves were unchanged, though of course larger on the HD DLP projection screen. It was not the experience that many of us hoped: a complete graphical overhaul of Halo 2. Still, it was a slight improvement. So, Halo 2 on X360 isn't as jaggy as on Xbox. If that's reason enough to run through the entire game again, then so be it. The graphics themselves haven't changed, just the edges of the player and environmental models. Probably a better cause to pluck this title from the shelf again is to play it with the X360 controller.
