EA: Thanksgiving Picks Up Slow November
Electronic Arts CFO Warren Jensen says the company had a good Thanksgiving weekend, following slow sales this month. But he warned of more price drops, including the mighty Madden Madden is due to drop in price from $48 to $39 this weekend, said Jenson, though he stressed that new games could still hold a $50 price tag. Madden has been available for five months. Speaking at technology conference webcast yesterday, he claimed EA would stake a 30% market-share Xbox 360 games by years-end, saying the machines launch had perked up business. EA launched five sports games with the machine, and has three more lined up in the weeks ahead. Next year, it has 35 titles in development for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Jenson said sales had been brisk over Thanksgiving, following a weaker than expected November.Source: http://www.next-gen.biz
