Canada Still Waiting For More Xbox 360’s

As the days go by the chances of getting an Xbox 360 in Canada before Christmas seems to become less likely. Even those who pre-ordered may be forced to wait until the New Year before they can get their hands on the new console. Yesterday, we discovered that most EB Games stores will not even be caught up to pre-orders until the New Year. According to the several stores we contacted, most EB Games stores in Canada are expecting a shipment sometime in December, but it might not even be enough to cover pre-orders. Even places like Wal-Mart are feeling the effects of the shortage. After speaking with one employee they too are hoping for “One” shipment of Xbox 360’s before Christmas, but are unsure of when, and how many. “We are just hoping that the shipment comes sometime in December, but we have no idea of when, and how many they are sending us” Gamers living in the UK can expect a similar situation on Friday. Most stores have already sold out of all their stock because so many people have pre-ordered the new Microsoft console. Chris Lewis of Microsoft has confirmed that the UK will only see approximately 300,000 Xbox 360’s on Launch day. With such an overwhelming demand,, there just is not enough Xbox 360’s to go around. There are still massive shortages in North America, with many people not being able to get the new console until sometime in the New Year. During an interview with the Official UK Xbox Magazine, Microsoft’s Peter Moore said: "The good news is that Xbox 360 is a very desirable product, the bad news is that it’s not like baking bread. It has 1700 parts, we have to make them, pack them, and ship them. We’re trying to get everyone satisfied as quickly as we can but demand is huge." As for getting an Xbox 360 in time for Christmas, Moore stated, "I’m not sure I can guarantee that everyone will get an Xbox 360 by Christmas, my hope, certainly, is that everyone who wants one will get one by Holiday time, but the demand is overwhelming." The bottom line is, supply is low and Microsoft is doing everything it can to get Xbox 360 consoles on shelves as fast as possible, with two factories operating 24 hours a day and both planes and boats shipping deliveries Canada, like the rest of the world has to be patient and wait.
