Turn Your PC Into A Gaming Entertainment Center
Adaptec’s GameBridge device is garnering a decent amount of attention. First it was listed as a CES Innovations 2006 Awards Honoree in the “Electronic Gaming” category then Dean Takehashi wrote it up this morning saying “if you can prove to your friend once and for all that you beat a game on the console — and show him or her the video — then this product has a useful purpose.” Adaptec bills it as a way to “play video game consoles on your computer in real time; maximize your gaming environment and save space” but also as a way to record games, convert home videos and watch and record TV shows. There are two versions: the 1400 records MPEG-1 only and will retail for $69 while the 1410 also records MPEG-2 and will be available for $99.Source: http://adaptec.com/
