Dead Rising Eating Your Brains This Summer

The sharp-eyed and quick-witted among our readers may have noticed that Capcom recently updated the product release schedule on its website, switching upcoming zombie-clobber fest Dead Rising to Summer 2006. The same page previously listed the Xbox 360 exclusive as arriving May 2, 2006 and the discrepancy may leave some gamers hungry for brains. It turns out, however, that the new summer date isn't so much a delay as a clarification. Capcom has not yet determined a specific release date for the title. "May 2006 was a rough estimated date and because sometimes dates aren't finalized until closer to ship, the website was actually changed to Summer 2006 to avoid the very confusion about timing it seems to have caused," a Capcom representative explained. "An exact release date has not been finalized for Dead Rising. Our apologies for any confusion that the website may have caused." There you have it: sometime in summer, same as it ever was. But don't be too hurt: we've got plenty of Dead Rising verbs and visuals in our full coverage of the game to keep you busy.
