Microsoft To Launch Xbox 360 In India
Microsoft Corp on Monday announced that it will launch its gaming console Xbox 360 in India by October. The gaming system will be priced at Rs 23,990 with a limited edition FIFA WC Xbox 360 available at Rs 19,990. Xbox 360 was internationally launched in November 2005 in competition with Sonys Playstation series. The Xbox 360 system will come loaded with a 20GB detachable hard drive for storing music, video and games and a wireless controller. The US software major will set up 1,200 retail centres for its distribution across 7 cities, including the four metros. “Xbox 360 will be available for consumers before the Diwali season. However, the pre-order of the product will start from June 9," Mitch Koch, corporate VP, global retail sales and marketing group, Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division said. The Xbox system would have 20 titles at the launch and 7-10 titles would be added to it every month. Microsoft has tied-up with Adidas for its pre-order promotion.
