Xbox 360 Dashboard Gets Overhaul
Microsoft has just revealed some much-needed tweaks and new features that are being made to Xbox Live and the Xbox 360 dashboard. One of the biggest improvements is the inclusion of a download manager. Now six different downloads can be queued up and downloaded one after the other. Not only that, but youll be able to do other stuff like play a game or watch a DVD while you wait instead of being stuck at the download screen. Other small improvements include persistent playlists for CDs that will allow you to play your own music over a game. Youll still get the games sound effects while you listen to your own tunes. The update will also enable the Xbox 360 to bookmark places in DVDs so that rather than starting up a movie all over again after powering down, it will pick up where you left off. Also, when you play back downloaded videos, youll finally be able to fast forward and rewind. The dashboard menus and the Xbox Live Marketplace menus will be tweaked to make it easier to find what youre looking for. A few menus have been completely rearranged to make browsing more efficient, and newly released content will have its own folder for quick access. Another feature lets you set your Xbox 360 to boot up directly to the dashboard all the time or to automatically run whatever is in the drive.Source: http://www.gamespy.com
