THQ To Lose WWE Licence?
An interesting press release came in from THQ's press department, regarding a lawsuit filed by the WWE against the company. The lawsuit was filed on the 12th October in Connecticut state court by the WWE, and involves a claim previously reporting in Securities and Exchange Commission filings concerning allegedly improper sales of WWE video games in Japan and other countries in Asia. The WWE are asking for monetary damages and also a decleration that the company is entitled to terminate the video game licence, effectively stopping THQ from producing any more WWE titles. THQ - developers of WWE Smackdown! vs Raw, Day of Reckoning and the appalling RAW series - said that "THQ and the LLC believe the lawsuit is without merit and we intend to defend ourselves vigorously." So, we could well be looking at the likes of EA and Activision bidding for the licence in the near future.Source: http://www.rewiredmind.com/
