J Allard @ CVG
The crew from CVG talked with the man himself, J. Allard at last weeks E3 event about what else, the XBOX. Sprawling over seven pages of interview, CVG grilled J about the plan for the XBOX, what he thought Nintendo and Sonys presence at E3. Several of the questions regarding Nintendo and Sony were, what appears to be, an attempt to get the console wars cranked up a few notches by giving Allard the chance to say something wrong. J of course never did (to their regret Im sure) and the responses were very interesting. Heres a bit of the interview.
German journalist: What do you personally want to do with Xbox for videogames aside from being successful?Allard: What I would like to do is I would like to see this generation of gaming change the language that we use to talk about our audience. More than anything else. Truly go mass-market. Think about film. Steven Spielberg talks about his audience. If you think about books, Michael Crichton talks about his audience. If you talk about sporting events they talk about an audience. They don’t talk about TV viewers, movie-goers, sport enthusiasts, they’re just people, they’re an audience. We talk about our community as gamers, which is a subset of people, right, it’s a smaller audience, it’s a specific audience. There’s not a game console next to every television set out there. There can be. We can make it a legitimate form of entertainment.
Be sure to head over and check out the rest... Its a MUST read for any XBOX fan.
