Eidos Year-end Loss
Over at MCV USA , they are reporting that Eidos is reporting their year-end financial losses. At the end of their Q4 which ended March 31, 2001, Eidos reported net sales of just $37.7m compared with net sales of $75.5m during the same period last year. (Ouch!! thats gotta hurt)In a prepared statement, Chairman Ian Livingstone said "The hiatus in demand for entertainment software by consumers awaiting deliveries of the next generation of consoles has led to a disappointing financial performance both for ourselves and many other leading publishers of interactive video games."
Another thing revealed after Eidos reported year-end financials, was that for the remainder of the current fiscal year which will be ending March 31, 2002, Eidos has 11 titles planned for PlayStation 2, seven for Xbox, two for PlayStation, one for Dreamcast and zero for both Gamecube and Game Boy Advance. (Sorry Nintendo!)
