Microsoft Launches Xbox Soundtracks Program
The band has released an exclusive reworking of their track "Shes My Man" and was inspired by the trailer for the highly anticipated Xbox 360 title, Halo Wars. The Xbox Soundtrack program is all about creating music inspired by Xbox 360 games and Xbox is working with artists across Europe to create new music and help find up and coming new talent. "Its such a cool project to be involved in. Babydaddy and I are massive gamers so it was a great experience reworking our mix to the Halo Wars game," said Jake Shears, from the Scissor Sisters. "Im really looking forward to seeing some of the other tracks people create. The games on the Xbox 360 are so intense and emotional, that they can be just as inspiring as sitting down and watching a movie." Xbox Soundtracks is looking for new artists to create their own music to a range of Xbox 360 trailers. Entrants to the competition will be able to download and score music to a range of Xbox 360 trailers when the consumer contest gets going in May. The finished piece can then be uploaded and viewed and rated by anyone. The favorite track in each country will win its producer some time in a studio with Universal Music.
