Fate no more
In a recent update to their website, Epix Interactive sadly announced the closing of its doors and the cancellation of their title Fate. The future was looking very promising for Fate as the title had the industry talking praises of the game without even laying eyes on it. Heres the full post regarding the shutdown.
Over the last few months, weve worked many hours long into the night working on Fate, designing every aspect, planning every detail and trying to secure funds for the long haul. However, over the last few months securing funding was just not possible. Due to many reasons, the recession, technology companies like dot coms not living up to their potential, and mainly investors dont understand how big an industry gaming is. We didnt want to release any more info mainly because we didnt want to get the hopes up of any fans or critics out there with promises we couldnt keep due to lack of funds. So after our initial press release we decided to wait until we were sure we could continue. But as it turned out we ran out of what limited private funds we had before we could secure much larger funding from investment firms. To all at Epix, best of luck to each of you. Were saddened to be forced to close up shop and as of June 23rd, Epix will be no more. We tried our best to continue, but life is not a fairy tale and it doesnt always work out the way wed of hoped.
Fate promised to change the genre as we know it forever, perhaps its just to early for that to happen and somewhere down the line it might still, but for now it is gone.
We thank you for all your support over the last few months and putting up with what little information we gave, and we wish we could change things, we wanted to make it just as much as you wanted to play it. A week from now, Epix and this site will be gone forever...
Its was fun while it lasted.
