Battlefield 1942 Interview
The peeps from MsXbox have posted up an interview with Digital Illusion’s Marcus Legler about Battlefield 1942. Here’s one of the best questions that was asked and Marcus’ reply.
MSXbox: How difficult is it creating a game out of an event so huge and tragic as WWII? As long as people touch base with things that are connected to that horrible moment in man history, they will not forget what it really was all about.
Our intention is to capture the spirit that you can find in movies like "Saving Private Ryan", "A Bridge Too Far" or "Tora Tora Tora" that all take place during WWII. Here it’s up to you to be the hero of the day whether you dive through the skies in your fighter with raging machineguns, dogfighting, to keep the enemies from your Aircraft Carrier, or be a part of a huge tank battle in the merciless heat of the North African sun trying to hold the last line of defense!
It is what Hollywood has done all since the war - WWII as action packed heroic entertainment!
