Sega Announces Viking: Battle for Asgard
In a press statement released today, Sega has announced that it will be publishing the latest console game from developer Creative Assembly. The developer is primarily known for the PC-based real-time strategy franchise Total War. This will be the studio’s second major console design, the first being the 2005 title Spartan: Total Warrior. Viking: Battle for Asgard will depict a Norse mythological war that begins when the goddess Hel is banished from Asgard by Odin, causing her to raise an undead army on Midgard. It will fall to the player, as Midgard’s hero Skarin, to take back the land from the undead horde. According to Sega, the game will feature huge epic battles featuring hundreds of NPC warriors—a hallmark of Creative Assembly’s Total War games. The player will be able to subtly influence the battles while playing as Skarin. The game is currently scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime in early 2008.Source: http://www.next-gen.biz/
