E for All Debuts Tomorrow

The organisers of the E for All Expo have unveiled more details on the eve of the show’s debut. A game career seminar, programmed by the Game Developers Conference, takes place on Friday and Saturday, giving attendees an opportunity to meet with HR execs from leading game companies. Major League Gaming plans game competitions throughout the show, including Halo 3 contests, with cash prizes for tournament winners. Target, in conjunction with Activision and Red Octane, is sponsoring a Guitar Hero II competition that will pit attendees against past Guitar Hero champions for cash and gift card prizes. Meanwhile, MTV casting directors will be viewing video taken of gamers playing Rock Band, with an opportunity for two bands to be flown to New York City for "rock star training" and an appearance on MTV’s TRL Rock Off event. Video Games Live, a concert event featuring music from some of the biggest video games of all time synchronized with video and lighting effects, will be held at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live, adjacent to the E for All venue. On October 19, Video Games Live will premiere music from Halo 3, BioShock and Conan, with new arrangements of Contra, Chrono Cross, Pac-Man, Tetris and Final Fantasy. The concert requires separate admission from the expo, however. E for All will also feature a cosplay contest and the Into the Pixel art exhibition. Games playable at the show include Rock Band, The Simpsons Game, Medal of Honor: Heroes, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Guitar Hero III, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. Exhibitors will include Nintendo, Electronic Arts, 2K Games, Konami, THQ, Intel, and HP. Sony and Microsoft have previously indicated they would not be attending. Other major publishers who will not have a presence at the show include Activision, Ubisoft, Capcom, Midway, and Sega. E for All 2007 takes place October 18-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and is open to the general public.
