Puzzle Quest Wins Best Downloadable Game

D3Publisher of America, Inc. (D3PA), a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software, is honored to announce that 2007’s critically acclaimed Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft was awarded Best Downloadable Game at the 11th annual Interactive Achievement Awards. The award, voted on by industry peers, was presented February 7 at the D.I.C.E. (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain) Summit organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) in Las Vegas February 6-8.

"Earning an Interactive Achievement Award is a great success for D3PA and Infinite Interactive; to be recognized as a leader in technical innovation and gameplay experience with a game like Puzzle Quest is an honor," said Peter Andrew, vice president, product development, D3PA. "We took a risk offering such a genre-bending title, but Puzzle Quest has now paved the way for more compelling puzzlers to come. We’re thrilled with the praise it’s received over the last year and hope Puzzle Quest continues to capture the affection of casual and hardcore gamers alike."

Set in the Warlords universe, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords tasks players to save the land of Etheria from evil Lord Bane. Gamers engage in battles fought by means of competitive, head-to-head and "match-three" style puzzle games in one of three gameplay modes: Single-player, Instant Action or Multiplayer. Victory will advance a player’s customizable hero, magical arsenal, creature companions and more - ultimately rewarding gamers at nearly every turn and deepening their immersion into the richly diverse world.

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is also available for Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP (PlayStationPortable) system, the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. A mobile version is due in early 2008. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is rated "E 10+" (Everyone 10 and older--suggestive themes) for all platforms by the ESRB.

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Windows PC and Xbox LIVE Arcade are developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. The Wii, PlayStation 2 system and PSP system versions are co-developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. The DS version is co-developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and 1st Playable Productions, LLC. The mobile version is co-developed by Infinite Interactive Pty. Ltd. and THQ’s Universomo Ltd. mobile game development studio. The Windows PC and mobile versions are distributed by THQ Inc.’s ValuSoft division and THQ Wireless Inc., respectively. All other versions are distributed by D3Publisher of America, Inc.
