John O’Rourke Talks Xbox
EBgames.com whipped up a short but straight to the point interview with the director of Xbox marketing, John ORourke. In this chat session ORourke releases more information about the Xbox. See for yourself:
EB: How is the launch game line-up coming along?ORourke: It’s coming along really, really well. We came out of Gamestock, Microsoft’s annual game showcase, with a tremendous amount of momentum and excitement about the games we showed there. Gamestock was our first chance to show people what games Microsoft was working on for Xbox.
We showed off Halo. We showed off NFL Fever and Amped and Oddworld. The feedback we received was that this is really good stuff. People said, first of all, what a great development platform for the games to be this far along in gameplay, to have the gameplay experience be this good. The second thing we heard was that Microsoft was doing a good job of carrying over their understanding of games to the console market, but that the games we’re developing are video games. They’re not PC games that are simply ported over to Xbox.
Halo, every time I see it, it just knocks me on my butt. It is just stunning. And as far as Oddworld, I was actually a huge Oddworld fan. That was one of the very first games I played on PlayStation. So, seeing Oddworld in what I kind of view as what it was always meant to be is like a dream come true.
Oh my, Mr. ORourke said "butt!" To see if he says any more naughty words or if you would like to read the rest click here.
