Interview with Todd Howard
GameSpy talked with Todd Howard, the project leader from Bethesda Softworks about the upcoming RPG, Morrowind. The interview had Todd touching base on what he does on the game, the background on the Elder Scrolls universe in which Morrowind is set, what will set Morrowind apart from competing RPGs and much more! Take a look:
GameSpy: For the folks who are unfamiliar with the Elder Scrolls universe, can you give a brief history leading up to Morrowind?Todd Howard: Morrowind is the 3rd chapter in the Elder Scrolls series. Arena was the first game in 1994, and Daggerfall was the second, in 1997. Both won all the RPG of the Year awards. They are huge, open-ended games where you can make any kind of character you want, and go do what you want. We also did two other games in the Elder Scrolls universe, Battlespire and Redguard, but neither is a big RPG. All the Elder Scrolls games take place in the Empire of Tamriel. Its a politically charged world, with historic clashes between the races. Through the games weve told the history and have been showing the Empire beginning to loose its power.
