Xbox 360 Sells 347K in September
The firm cited figures from NPD Group that pegged U.S. September Xbox 360 sales at 347,000 units, up from 195,000 in August.
The month-on-month comparison is slightly skewed, as the NPD calendar was only four weeks in August, but five weeks in September, meaning Xbox 360 sales were up 42 percent on a comparable basis.
The price cut, which took effect across all three Xbox 360 models, brought the low-end Xbox 360 Arcade to $199, $50 less than the Nintendo Wii.
NPD stats also indicate a software attach rate of 8.1 units.
More NPD data is expected shortly.
