Iconmobile group Launches Wireless Xbox Portal
Los Angeles – April 9, 2009 – iconmobile group, a leading innovator in mobile business solutions, today announced the international launch of Xbox.mobi, a mobile portal designed for Xbox fans. Initially introduced for the U.S. market in November 1, 2007, Xbox.mobi is now available in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy and the UK. iconmobile also unveiled its content management system (CMS), which enables Microsoft’s Xbox team to manage their content efficiently from anywhere in the world.
Xbox.mobi is an extensive mobile Web site designed for Xbox fans internationally to access on their wireless phones or devices. Xbox.mobi offers fans exclusive videos, ringtones, a current games catalog, news updates and "My Gamer Card," a personalized area for dedicated Xbox gamers where they can see their friends’ stats and challenge other gamers via their mobile phone to a game on their Xbox system. RSS feeds also provide information on a range of subjects, including current HD movies and premium content for Xbox LIVE.
"Xbox.mobi provides us with unique possibilities for expanding the brand on the mobile channel and reaching our key target groups," said Julie Lynn Southard, digital direct marketing manager for Microsoft. "The magic really happens when we connect what is happening in mobile across social networks and traditional media such as print, in-store and on-pack and give our gamers access to Xbox content, even on the go."
iconmobile group´s content management system enables Xbox to tailor the mobile Web site for each international region. The intuitive, state-of-the-art system allows local Microsoft Xbox business units to manage mobile content updates from America, Europe, Asia or Australia, bringing unique and localized Xbox game coverage and news to fans all over the globe.
“Whether the Xbox team is based in Shanghai or New York, our content management system guarantees optimum and immediate delivery of content to a number of global mobile networks simultaneously,” said Thomas Fellger, founding partner and managing director of iconmobile group. “Our CMS puts Xbox in control, giving them the opportunity to maintain a cohesive and standard mobile offering across international markets, while also enabling the creation of country-specific offerings.”
The multi-user environment offers direct access to the Xbox content of other markets, as well as to the system’s reporting platform, which provides the latest statistical information, such as page impressions, visits, location, handsets and carriers per market. iconmobile’s content management platform has asynchronous one-click uploads, immediate user feedback, adjustable market preferences and a dashboard that mirrors the portal. To offer a centralized location for the exchange of news, product highlights and ideas internationally, iconmobile developed the Media Center as part of its content management system, which serves as the repository for all Xbox mobile content.
iconmobile has worked with Microsoft since 2007 and also developed a mobile portal for the market launch of Halo 3 in the United States in September 2007.
