Lost Planet 2 Update

Expectedly, we must turn to the Japanese gaming bible Famitsu for an update.

This week’s issue features some commentary on the title from producer Jun Takeuchi. In the interview, Takeuchi reveals that Lost Planet 2 will have more than twice as many Vital Suit (VS) machines. These include both single character suit-type machines as well as larger machines that multiple players ride simultaneously.

The game will also see a jump in its weapon count, with more than twice the variety. Included in the bunch are shields, which can be used for support during co-op play.

Takeuchi shared a few details on the game’s co-op mode, which includes support for up to four players. Your team carries a shared power gauge. Players who die can keep on reviving themselves so long as that power gauge is not empty.

Character customization comes into play during multiplayer mode. You’re free to make changes to head, body, leg and other areas, right down to area-specific colors. The game will offer a number of costumes and accessories that can be mixed and matched to your liking.
