New Pricing Structure For Xbox Live Indie Games
While titles made using the XNA-based amateur games creation platform were previously priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10/£6.80), 400 MSP ($5/£3.40) or 200 MSP ($2.50/£1.70), prices going forward will be set at 400 Microsoft Points ($5/£3.40), 240 MSP ($3/£2.04) or 80 MSP ($1/£0.68).
Developers will only be able to price titles below 50 MB in size at 80 Microsoft Points.
Changes to the pricing structure, which Microsoft has introduced to keep titles available on the service “more in-line with other products available on Xbox Live Marketplace,” will be fully implemented by October 22.
The company has also introduced a number of new features to the Xbox Live Creators Club. Developers in Japan and Germany can now submit indie games, while all creators can now submit their titles to the Japanese, German, Singapore and Swedish Xbox Live Marketplaces.
Additionally, a new reputation system will assign developers with points and levels based on their XNA Creators Club Online activity.
Further details about the changes can be found here.
