Nascar Thunder 2002 1st Look
PlanetXbox.com has posted a first look of Electronic Arts’ upcoming NASCAR title for the Xbox, NASCAR Thunder 2002. The title is now being done by Tiburon, known for their work on the Madden NFL franchise. Be sure to click here to get the skinny on this upcoming racer.
As for effects, the game will feature an accurate damage model, with cars that dent and crumple, and lose auto parts as they collide with other cars and track barriers. Tire donuts on body panels, tire smoke, particle effects, and contained oil fires are also to be part of the game. Imagine darting down the track only to have to decide whether to go high or low through the smoke field, from an oil fire, that lies ahead. Pick the wrong path and you could find yourself in a monster collision and massive amounts of car damage that will have to be repaired. In addition, these features will create for a dynamic track environment with moving obstacles, damaged car parts from other cars, and lighting effects for both day and night racing.
