I have been wondering as of late on how Gamespot comes up with the actual review score for a game...so here's what I did.
I added up the 5 individual scores for Splinter Cell (8,9,9,8,9) and came up with 43...then I divided by 5 and came up with 8.6 which is the score they gave to Splinter Cell. So I thought that it seemed logical to do it that way, so I went along looking at some more games for the fun of it...and game across Colin McRae Rally 3, which also got an 8.6. But however, the scores for CMR3 (9,9,8,7,9) only added up to 42, which divides into 8.4. Why did they give the game a higher score for no reason at all?
So then I decided to do more research and found that the Zone of Enders 2 (ps2 exclusive) should have a score of 8.4...instead they gave it an 8.5. More research has revealed that DOAXBV's real score should be 6.2, not the 6.0 that they gave it.
Lowering the xbox game's scores and bumping up the ps2's games scores for what reason? More biased antics from gamespot...
