why is everyone so excited about wreckless?

Here are my reasons:

Killer graphics
Racing/Destruction Game
Closest thing we'll see to GTA 3 (For now... no official date for GTA 3 yet)

That and a general thirst for some new games... need somthing to hold me off until JSRF

16 Don't Hate on Wreckless, like someone said Wreckless is and may be the closet think that we're getting to GTA3 I've heard things about taking it off the market.

i havent seen any clips collecting anything, saw a monster truck one, and i saw one wher they are flying thorugh a town (several) and one where he had to get on a moving plane, and it looked freakin' awesome!

i know it's a different kind of game but the cartoonish features I've seen remind me too much of Crazy Taxi and that was only fun for about 10 mins

It's not that I'm trying to hate on wreckless, I just dont see what all the hype is about. The graphics appear decent but nothing spectacular and the whole thing looks like something you'd pay a quarter to play at the arcade, not a game that you would buy for your xbox console. It's hard to pre-judge a game so I'm just throwing out a few observations I've made--Just a few more days and we should all know, right?

Sure, it has a cartoonish quality, but it is not cartoon based (ala Cel Damage). Some of the cartoonish effects you may have seen are part of the replay feature, which allows you to replay the previous action with cool effects, and even play with the effects on, if you choose.

Wreckless features many different missions. Some of them have you racing against the clock to get to a destination, in others you must destroy a certain car, which can or cannot be an easy feat, due to the trafic and massive city of Hong Kong.

I am not all that excited about it, because its not out so you cant really tell if it is going to be all that good...some games you can(halo!), you cant really with wreckless...

It's look like a rental due to the lack of no multiplayer.

Think about it...what was the best part about GTA3? The car chases! And imagine driving a car anywhere in the whole town! I saw a screenshot in the Feb issue of OXM where a car was busting thru a wall and onto a roof.
