Does the Xbox make much noise??

I would like to now if the xbox makes much noise like a computer's HD and cooler.

it may make a little noise, but nothing i have ever noticed, the sound will be drowned out from the sound of your TV anyway.

if u have no sound on then u can hear it loading but it isn't noticable when u get playing. It sounds better than my computer's HD

The Xbox is about as loud as the Ps2. I’d say the Xbox is pretty quite for it's mammoth size!

My Xbox is sometimes very LOUD.

Occasionally, it makes some really loud buzzing sounds, I think the fan is vibrating or something. If i wait for a about 5 - 10 mins, it usually goes away. It comes and goes every few hours or so. Sometimes when it really annoys me, i stick a small piece of paper in the back fan, and the noise would usually stop.

Otherwise it is pretty quiet.

U can't hear it if U have your tv at a normal listening volume. The Xbox is alot quieter than any computer I've ever heard. The loading sound is also easy on the ears if you do happen to have the volume on the tv extra low.

if u had a dreamcast the sound will be so relieving.....:o
the rumble of my controller during the crane bits in munches oddysee is disturbingly noisy though

Comatose has a point...

You'll notice the sound of the rumbling controllers before you notice the sound of the Xbox. The Box is definitely quieter than my computer, but my computer has 6 fans! A beast like the Xbox probably has a couple fans. At least one for the hard drive and another for the incredible video card. But don't take my word for it... I don't know what I'm talking about most of the time.

The only time you'll REALLY notice the sound of the Xbox is when you're playing a DVD that has alot of quiet spots, like Quills or The Shining.
