Default Ok my next step is getting xbox online (help)

Sorry for all the questions guys, but I am really excited about my new purchase.

How do I get online? I have a cable modem hooked to the computer. Do I need to get a hub or switch? How much are they? Is there software that I need to get on the net with my xbox? It didnt come with a disk or anything.

Thanks for all the help guys. I really want to play Halo online.

    Help me please

    Peace

All you really nead is a network card and a net cord (not sure of the exact name) and once you have your network card setup you plug the cord into it, and then plug the other end into your xbox.... Hope thats any help

you may be able to plug straight into the cable modem bu I'm not sure ask one of the other guuys that one (someone else please take over!)

you will need a hub and those are about $25- 30 and then an ethernet cable not crossover and then connect your xbox to the hub and go to http://www.xbconnect.com and download the software and make an ID and for halo you go to System Link. Hope this helps

Although I haven't done this yet I might be able to help you.
Get GAMESPY TUNNEL on your computer. you can download it at gamespy.com next buy a hub, switch or router and plug your CAT5 ethernet cord into one empty slot on your hub, switch or router and then get your second CAT5 ethernet cord and plug it into another empty slot and take one cord and hook it up to your cable modem and then hook the second cord up to your XBOX and then just follow the instructions on GAMESPY TUNNEL and you should be up and going! Although this is the white trash rigged way of going online it works for most people. Me I am going to wait about another month until Microsoft Launches it's XBOX online network then you can get online (officially)!!!
Hope this info is useful!! Although people have complained about GAMESPY TUNNEL if you are very desperate to go online and can't wait for the Official network to go up you can try this.

Hardline... Download the free software from XBConnect by clicking here!! (Just scroll down and click "I agree" and save it to your hard disk on your computer.

Also, for common network configurations for set-up, XBConnect, our recent partner at XBoxaddict, has a convenient list of ways to do it. Pictures and all: Just click here!!

Make sure to have fun, too

would'nt it be better to drop the third party xbox and just play on the computer?
