There is some truth to the PS2 dying out. I see it all the time at the game store I go to. The DVD in the PS2 just isnt meant to spin constantly, just enough to load games.

I am not sure about the Xbox, but I dont care because I have 2 stand alone DVD players, and 3 dvd roms in my computers (one of with is a DVD-R writer)

When I got my xbox, the sales dude said dvd's would kill the "reader lens thingy".
    I don't care though, I have a dvd player

What's the point of putting one in if it's just gonna break? It's a waste of money. These are just rumours!

I've watched several movies on my box...no problem whatsoever. Is the PS2 fanboy trying to say that it could ruin because the XBox is spinning the movie disc constantly? Dude...the guy is an idiot. I have watched several movies...I've watched them spin...then, I spinned beer caps on top of the XBox while it had a movie in it...then, I proceded to spin the entire XBox while it had spinning beer caps on top and a movie playing... Take this and realize that the Earth is spinning and that's a whole lot of spinning...and still...not a damn problem

Well, seeing as xbox game discs are dvds I know this isn't true. Plus the same goes for PS2.
