why does my x-box call itself donut?

when i have my xbox linked up to my friends to play halo, his xbox has his name listed but mine is called donut. I dont have my profile in halo called donut so where is this coming from and can i change it? help!

That's your Xbox's name that came from the factory. You can change it in MotoGP (your rider's name I believe) or in DOA3...and some other games. Search around this site, I know there used to be a few threads about this.

Does your xbox have any reason to resent you? As it might be mocking you... do you eat a lot of donuts? I would also look into the possibility of demonic possesion. Try blessing a bucket of water and dumping it on the xbox, if it starts steaming that means the holy water is killing the demons

kidding aside, your xbox comes with a built in name. You can use DOA3, get a high score, and for your initials enter the name you want.

You could be on to something because my xbox is named "kill the infedels." I have no idea how that got there.

OK So if someone doesn't have Halo or Moto GP or DOA3 is there any way of finding out the Xbox name.

I tried just asking it nicely but all it says over and over is "Grab the sharpest knife, Grab the sharpest knife".

Seriously is there any way?

Mine said, well it showed, it didn't tell me, anyway, My xbox claims it's called "Ghost." Considering some are called "Walla Walla", I think I'll just leave it at that.

Find what? Maybe you mean the name of your Xbox? That I don't know, but you could always change it to what you wanted by getting a high score in the game and entering a name. That would then become your new xbox name.

I never found out what my Xbox name is. I normally just call my Xbox, Bill.

My Xboxs name is Howard.

Some were asking for help to find theres. I went on Halo, with one controller pluged in( sopose to work better) went to multiplayer, split screen, choose level then went in, it shows youre name and is waiting for others to join in, at the top there is a xbox with a name above it, that name is your xboxs name.I read it somwere and did it.
