What would you say are the top 5 racing games for the xbox that are out now? I just purchased my XBOX and am new to console gaming. I am making the transition from PC gaming. I dont have live access yet so thats not a key in my question. I was looking at Project gotham racing, nascar 2003, indy car game, burnout 2 point of impact, need for speed 2, midnight club2, midtown madness3, Rallisport challenge, collin mcree3 are some of the ones my local store has that i can remember. What would you say are the top 5 xbox racers? and what are you looking foreward to?

My current 5 favorite racers, in this order are:

1. Moto GP 2 (XBox Live compatible)
2. Rallisport Challenge
3. Moto GP (XBox Live compatible)
4. Sega GT 2002
5. Project Gotham

Top games that I am most hyped about coming out are:

1. Rallisport Challenge 2 (XBox Live compatible)
2. Sega GT On-line (XBox Live compatible)
3. Project Gotham 2 (XBox Live compatible)

*note: Eventhough some of the above are XBox Live compatible, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to play them on-line. Also, keep in mind that I do love racing games, but, I am not as hardcore as other members here.

I was thinking of Moto GP2 but am not sure. I am not big motor cycle person. But it looks cool. I am big racing and sports fan. Thats the main reason I am switching to consoles from the PC. Do you think Live is worth the price of cable modem each month? I have been debating this since i first though of going console. I have never played a game online before.

Personally, I find it totally worth it to get XBox Live especially if you like racing and sports. It's unbelievable...The unpredictible nature of playing a real person instead of battling against artificial intelligence is so much more fun. If anything, it adds so many more elements to the games. You should definately try it if you are remotely unsure about it. Besides, if you have buddies anywhere in the world, you can simply play them a game of football as if they were in your living room.

Also, stick around here as much as you can...get to know people like you already are. We have a ton of people that play on-line together from here. Even clans have been developed because of it.

As for Moto GP2...I actually agree that motorcycle racing wasn't too exciting for me...but, until I played it, I couldn't believe how much fun it was. I definately put Moto GP right up there with the best of racers, hands down.

Those are five of the good racers on xbox.
In the future, look forward to Project Gotham Racing 2, Need For Speed Underground (awesome street racer, and I can show you screens if you want to see some), Sega GT online, and Rallisport Challenge 2 are the most anticipated racers for xbox.

How long before Project Gotham Racing 2 comes out? I am thinking of getting one just to practice up for 2 but if its real soon I dont wanna waste the money.

is need for speed underground all import cars?

PGR2 should come out before the end of the year, or holiday 2003, and project gotham 1 is just $16.99 this week at Best Buy, so go get it.
Moto Gp 2 is better tham Moto Gp 1, and is a much better bet than Moto Gp. It costs $50 though, so make sure you have enough money, and yes, Need For Speed Underground is a street racing game, like Midnight Club 2, but it will be much better, and read the ign preview I linked if you don't believe me.

Midtown Madness 3 is a very Arcadey racer, yet it is very fun, with 54 single player missions, and two giant realistic cities to drive in. But the main part of the game is online, where it is funner than any online racer so far. Midnight Club 2 is also a good game, yet to play online you must beat the game, and you may get lost easily in the game, yet if you have patience, it is still a fun racer, yet MM3 is better.

So basically just get Project gotham racing, moto gp2, ralisport challenge and then wait on Need For Speed underground, Project gotham racing 2, ralisport challenge2 and forget the rest?

I have been looking at screens and reading about BurnOut2 point of impact and it looks pretty cool. Do you know anything about it?

I hear that Burnout 2 is pretty cool...but, I have never played it.

As for MotoGP2, definately get this over MotoGP 1. If you get XBox Live (which costs $50), you actually get MotoGP 1 with it. It's not the full version, but, you can rent the full version and unlock everything so you can take your custom bike on-line. MotoGP 2 has it all..on-line compatible and everything.

Project Gotham Racing 2 comes out, as far as I can remember, during Christmas this year.

Another cool racer, in my opinion, is Apex. Definately worth a rent.

Is there anywhere you can go to see what games are XBOX exclusive and wich ones are ports from other systems.

And if if that need for speed2 that is suppose to go platinum turns out to be true for 20 bucks i will probably buy it too
