Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden, as ninja games go, is expected to be the finest ninja game to date; and to be sure, looking at the latest screenshots, it seems that it certainly deserves to take centre stage on the mantelpiece, sitting majestically in between the dusty T.M.N.T. and Mr. Miyagi statuettes and replica daisho.

Ninja Gaiden throws you into the garb of Ryu Hasabusa, a legendary assassin on a one-man mission to demolish the Vigor Empire. Ryu cutting neck with a trusty katana almost as sharp as our wit, we're promised stylish fighting and a plethora of cool new acrobatic moves as our hero hunts down the magic sword Ryuken and ultimately tries to save the day.

Pretty. But with a game like this gameplay is 90% of the package. Cant wait..
