I like the Dark Elf, personally. Good mix of magic and fighting ability.

The best character is the Shyruken Warrior with medium class armor (you know the goldish armor). Just make sure you get a good Katana or double-edged axe to fight enemies.

Do NOT pick the Kamolite Soldier (They wear a blue robe and carry a bladed staff), they have a really bad hit point % and they don't do enough damage in fights.

the best character has alot to do with your style of playing..read the manual and you will see what the advantages of each race are.
