Effective today, Japanese gamers can purchase an Xbox console, the DVD kit, Project Gotham Racing 2, Halo, a two-month Xbox Live trial and two controllers for 19,800 yen. That's roughly $180.00 at the current exchange rate.

Damn! MS really wants their share of that market, eh? What a sick bundle. What about us, M$? What about your LOYAL, ESTABLISHED American consumer base? Where's our cookie?

yeah where is the love ... I would be forced to buy a second XBOX with that bundle being offered. They get HALO and PGR2 and we get Tetris Worlds and Clone Wars ... you have got to be kidding me.

DZ ... Thanks for all the good times. You will be missed.
Its called marketing expertise. They don't need to sell that many back home in the USA, they need to get the other countries interested in their product, they need to outsell the lamecube back at home base.

My Xbox Live games: Project Gotham Racing 2, Mech Assault, Rainbow Six 3, Unreal Championship, Ghost Recon, Whacked (playable demo), Moto GP (playable demo)
The rest of my Xbox games: Halo: Combat Evolved, SegaGT 2002, Transworld Snowboarding, Brute Force, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3, Jet Set Radio Future, NFL Fever 2002, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Dead or Alive 3, Splinter Cell, Fuzion Frenzy, I-Ninja, Deus Ex: Invisible War
It's not fair ******. I want a bundle like that I would then own 3 xboxes though. Isn't that overkill?
Of course not. I would have 16 if I could afford, then I would open up an Xbox camp. Only problem is it would cost well over $20,000 for TVs, Xboxes, controllers, and games... But it would be worth it... right?

Are you trying to be smart ... I don't think there is a person who red this post and said "Why are they doing that?" ... there is no reason to act smart like that.Originally posted by WrathfulPoppa

This is clearly a case of customer support doesn't pay.
Seriously it this helps to sell more xboxes in Japan that will help us all.
That is an awesome bundle, but to be serious... My only interest lies within the Halo box cover...It looks really sweet.Originally posted by Yankeez

That's the bundle everyone's been waiting for. I'll have to pick one up, since I'll require my own Xbox when I go to college next year. It doesn't look like this is an American offer (but the xbox jewell is green and not the japanese black). In any event, I'm sure it will be available within the next nine or ten months.
what the f*ck?!
i JUST bought the bundle available here (for $180) that came with the console (obviously), clone wars and tetris worlds, 2-month xbox live trial, and only ONE controller ... i think i should move.
kinda makes you wana be japanese all the sudden....but we all already own X-boxs, and some of us more then one. lol
I likes HALO alot!
I am completely with you there. I have been touting that argument any and every time someone has brought up new marketing techniques for Japan. I don't want my money spent on poeple who could give a crap about the system. I want my money to be put towards satisfying me!Originally posted by thrAsher

If you read his post instead of just flaming, you would have realised that he meant Microshaft must outsell Nintendo at THEIR home base - ie Japan.Originally posted by DocHoliday78
