BT and Xbox have joined forces to promote online console gaming, via consumer broadband products this Christmas, through a multi-million pound TV advertising campaign.

Created under the Broadband from BT banner, the adverts promote Project Gotham Racing 2 and will run alongside Microsoft’s own Christmas advertising promoting the game.

The adverts will appear on both terrestrial and satellite TV from November 24 to December 21 2003. In addition, a sign-up CD-ROM, promoting Broadband from BT for online console gaming, will be bundled at key independent retailers with Project Gotham Racing 2, and at GAME and Toys R Us with the £139.99 Xbox bundle.

Amanda Mackenzie, director of marketing services, commented: “At BT we believe that compelling content is a key driver of broadband take-up and Xbox Live is a fantastic example of the opportunities delivered by broadband. We are delighted to be working on this initiative with Xbox to drive the broadband sales in the UK.”
