Entering XBox codes

When an XBox cheat or code requires the entry of an L, R, Left, or Right, what controls do these refer to? In other words, what do I push/move to enter L? What do push to enter Left?

Has anyone successfully used the Mad Dash Racing codes?

L , for your left trigger & R, for your right trigger buttons.

Exactly, L = Left Trigger....R = Right Trigger. "Left", which is different than "L", simply means to use your D-pad (Directional pad) and toggle it left, for example.

"L button", also mean maximus is a "Loser" & "R" trigger button as well can mean max is a retard! hehehe!
