Looking for opinions on a couple of great racing games. I have 2004 Nascar and it is too boring going around a track. Plus it is not easy to control the car.

Project Gotham Racing 2 is a decent game. But if you ask me, if gets pretty boring on the single player modes.

I'm not a HUGE fan of racing games, however, I usually end up buying one or two for every system since once in a while I get the urge to play... so I'm VERY particular about the racing game I actually purchase. I've played MX Unleashed, NFS: Underground, Project Gothem 1&2, Quantum Redshift, Sega GT, and MotoGP, but the only one I PURCHASED was Rallysport Challenge 2, and I'm VERY happy with that purchase. It has everything I wanted... arcade-like gameplay, HUGE variety of tracks (circular, point-to-point, hill climb, ice racing... mud, snow, tarmac, sand, gravel), huge variety of cars, great sound, great music (I hate hiphop), great graphics, and (the most important thing for me) great Live support. Any racing game without Live support I know I'll eventually get bored with, so this was important to me, and it plays great online! Check it out!Originally Posted by steverup
If you wanna wait a few months, the game to get will be Forza Motorsports. Its a first party title by Microsoft and looks to be shaping up to be a Gran turismo competitor, (not killer, because thats just not possible.) Over 60 manufacturers, over 150 post-factory part dealers, tons of tracks and 8 player xbox live!! This game will probably be overshadowed by Halo 2, but I definitely have it on my want list.

All very good games. Quite a few coming out this year too.
Racing Games in General can get VERY boring despite how good the content, gameplay and graphics are.
That's why always keep myself for the best racers, in past year, I think I've bought about two racers, PGR2 and RSC2.
I like Sega GT 2002, right now I'm really into PGR2 and I'm really really looking forward to Forza!!!!

I've owned just about every racing game on xbox...
my top 4 would be:
Project Gotham Racing 2 (IMO, the best Racer out on xbox)
MotoGP 2 (The best MOTO sim ever made)
Rallisport Challenge 2 (The King of Rally games)
Midtown Madness 3 (If you have LIVE, this is the most fun you'll have with a racing game)

I have PGR 2, RSC 2, and 2005 Chase for the cup. PGR 2 is fav, but Chase for the cup is a blast also. You can buy teams in Featherlite, truck, busch, and nextel series. not to mention other types of producton cars to race on tracks. I haven't played 2004, but at least rent 2005, so much more then the last version of nascar. Didn't care to much for RSC2, it was fun when I first got my xbox, came with it, b/c I didn't have anything else to play. I like the street racing more though.
showing my age now probably but I'm surprised there's no mention of Outrun2 - it's one of the reasons that I'm buying an xbox!
