Xbox Finally Has Success In Japan!
-=G=- Posted on January 24, 2003
Dead Or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball had thousands of japanese gamers queing outside game stores in the rain yesterday and we have the pics and amazing sales figures to prove it!
Tecmo shipped 120,000 copies of the title to retailers in Japan and on the first day of release, an amazing 72,881 japanese gamers snapped up the game.
The title is expected to sell out over the weekend and will hopefully be the first Xbox game to top the Japanese charts since Dead Or Alive 3 was released last febuary.
Tecmo (Microsoft's greatest Japanese partner) is also creating such anticipated titles as Ninja Gaiden, Dead Or Alive Code Chronos and Dead Or Alive 4. So, if these sales figures are to be any indication, we could see success for Xbox this year thanks to Tecmo!

Not to sound bigoted or anything, but add a little perversion to something and the japanese with snatch it up faster than anything. Microsoft should have thought of this formula a long time ago.
Just wait to games like Ninja Gaiden, Dead Or Alive Code Chronos and Dead Or Alive 4 come out.Originally posted by Kraft-XBA

That seems great to hear that an Xbox game is selling good. I really like seeing pics of people in Japan lining up to buy a videogame. I just wish their were pics of people dressed like DOAX characters.

You do not know how close to the truth you are. I lived in Japan for little under a year. I went to Tokyo and when i was walking down the street I got thirsty. so I stopped at a soda machine. Next to the soda machine was another dispensing machine. I looked at it and could not figure out what it was. Once I realized it I couldn't believe and I still cannot believe it to this day.Originally posted by Kraft-XBA

The machine was selling women’s soiled panties. That was 1993.

why dont people line up outside stores around here?
Because our country is huge and our population per square mile is much less. People probably stand in line to get into the grocery store in tokyoOriginally posted by EHWfedPres

I was just at Sofmap and AsoBitCity last night - not looking for soiled stuff mind you but doing weekend tech shopping, and they're sold out of DOAX around Akihabara
btw that last photo with the red interior has been only for PS2 ever since A.B.City opened - i guess they changed it for just a couple days for the doax release but it's back to PS2 now. Devil May Cry 2 is popular

Why would you line up that long for a video game? It can't be that good.

Props for the sweet sig to xbocks.
That is good news, hopefully it can sell some Xboxs too over there. I agree that Microsoft should make some more games that appeal to the Japan market.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others" - Nelson Mandela
Because people here are not as hardcore as they are in Japan. People think I'm crazy because I do it while dressing up like a videogame character.Originally posted by EHWfedPres

I just wished Xbox would have more games like this that would top sales charts. I really hope the Japanese Xbox games Galaxy Angel, Shigikami No Shiro(sp), Shin Megami Tensei NINE, Tenerreza, Otogi, and Brave Knight come to the U.S. I want an anime game now.

Oh am am willing to bet there is nudity, you will just need a code or something.
They also sell Porn in vending machines in Japan. Maybe that was China... No, it was Japan.
I could careless about Japanese gamers though, they could careless about us too.
