Microsoft wants more Xboxes than PS2's under the christmas tree this year, and what better way to achieve that goal than another Halo. Sources say the game will be shown at this years E3, with a possible Q4 release period.

The first tiny bit of details of the game have also been leaked. The entire Halo story is one super-heavy hint about the course of the sequel. We're told that the Halo itself is just one of many ringworlds peppered around space. Apparently Guilty Spark refers to our Halo as "Installation 04". So already we have a location, pregnant with the secrets of the mysterious alien race known as the forerunners.

That’s not how I read it, and I have this mag. It says that halo 2 will be announced at the e3 this year and not that is comes out at the end of. The Christmas tree thing is merely a statement of Microsoft’s goals..

better to get all urination issues out of the way NOW so that more hours can be poured into Halo 2. i'm personally thinking of having a catheter put in...along with about 50 feet of medical tubing running alongside my 50 ft cat5 cable

halo 2 already? man....lets just hope bungie doesn't milk this whole FPS Halo deal like some other game *cough*final fantasy*cough*...i wouldn't be suprised if its only an add on to the original game...seems TOO early to be halo 2

I don't think it would be too early for Halo 2. If it came out during the holiday season say, December then it would have been 14 months since Halo was released. It isn't like they have to build the game engine from scratch. Probably a few fixes here and there but no need to rehaul it like they do on the PC. Making a Halo 2 should be very easy in that amount of time. Plus you could probably add 3+ months to that figure since I'm sure they could have started working before Halo and the Xbox were even released.

Yes, that could be true. Also, many companies can work on two or more games at the same time. Maybe they have been working on Halo 2 since before Halo 1 was released. It's possible, but i rarely see it, especially in lesser known companies, seeing as it would be unwise to spend money on a sequel before knowing if the original was good or not. And no, I am not saying Bungie is "lesser known".

Could happen. Let's hope so.
