I just read the article in the latest issue of OXM on Brute Force. Holy cow, it looks good! Just wanted to see what everyone's opinion and anticipation of this is like.
Looks to me like this may just one-up Halo (do I dare say that?).

I had to post just to ask you if you feel feverish or something, because i could have sworn that you said something about Brute Force may just be "one-up" on HALO
Well Brute Force may sound tyte, and yea by the screens it seems like its gonna be real good, and there's lots of hype surrounding it, but still IMO it aint no HALO.
Untill next time...
Does anyone know if there will be co-op in Brute Force.

Well, you're innocent until proven guilty, so Halo's still top dog in my book as of right now. But I dunno... if you haven't read the article, this game sounds great. One character can use two weapons at once, one is a sniper specialist, one is a stealthy scout with the ability to kill silently. Fun stuff. We'll just have to see.

yea, its gonna be an awesome game, but i dont think it will be a halo killer, it will come pretty close though, the sad thing is that it has no system link or online play
That's one of the cool things, Laphex. You can start out in single player, and during the course of the game, you can have friends come in and drop out at will, all the while saving your progress on the game. To make it cooperative, all you have to do is plug in another controller! (according to OXM)
That's pretty nifty in my book.

I didn't realize it wasn't online or system-link. Are yall sure? If it's not, well, then there's now way it will knock off Halo. Hmm... I'll have to reread that article.

I am GOD of Halo..for I am Unbeatable...
Also, the biggest key element that I'm not sure about in regards to Brute Force is it having a multi-player option. I've heard "yes" and I've heard "no". So, I guess we'll have to wait and see what Brute Force really has in store for us.
I've also heard "yes" and I've heard "no" in regards to System Link. On-line capability, I've only heard "no". Of course, at this point, it seems that we are lacking information.
This is what I do know:
It's a Squad based shooter...you can play 1-4 people co-operatively...a buddy can jump in and out at will, as mentioned by Batman2372. There are 4 levels only, however, because of their enormous size, it hardly detracts from the game. This game is also played in 3rd person.
If you ask me, this game is entirely different from Halo. But, it's definately going to be a kick ass game and I will definately pick it up! I've been all over this game ever since I first saw and heard about it!!
u know, brute force keeps getting delayed and delayed all the time and i think they were working on the multiplayer mode. i read that somewhere on the net. not sure where, i'll try to find it and post it on here.
I wonder if brute force will get delayed again to add in the system link and online mode.i jsut hope not bc i want to paly this game very bad. Who knows? maybe they r working on the system link and online secretly now and didnt tell oxm.
i also heard it wont have online, or system link play. Why cant developers just go all out and make an awesome game?
in the newest issue of oxm, they have a huge preview for the game, it has ALOT of information, its like 5 pages long i think, u should pick up that issue. it also has the doa3 addon on the demodisc, but sadly, my disc didnt work, so i had to order a new oneOriginally posted by Maximus

Yea, i see your point man, and i must admit that i too am getting this game the very first time it hits shelves. Then we'll all see if Brute Force can hold a candle to Halo, or will it just be a whisper in the wind.Originally posted by Batman2372

yea..im pretty psyched about this game...but i don't know about it being a "halo-killer"...they're both in the same action genre, but one is 3rd person and the other is 1st person....also, halo has different mechanics in the game than brute force, such as only 2 co op, but hey, you get to ride the warthog anywhere you like, right?
im not sure about brute force's levels...i think it will be more than 4 levels...maybe 4 worlds, and in it there will be different levels...oh well, we'll have to wait and see if it can live up to its hype...halo already did
5 National Championships...13 Final Fours...Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
I just finished reading the Brute Force story in the June OXM, and saw this topic. I saw a couple of questions/remarks that were answered in the Issue.
First off, Maximus, there WILL be a multiplayer mode with deathmatches, CTF's, and others they didn't name.
And JADE, what I get from your last comment is questioning the longevity of Brute Force. Well, the OXM article states that it would take a "good gamer" around 30-40 hours to complete the game, and that is WITHOUT looking around at the environment, and the surroundings,
