I have wondered for a while now, what is a platform game?? Can somebody explain what it is for me?

i dont think luigui's mansion is considered a platform game...he cant jump....dont forget vexx i still havnt tried that game...is it any good?

like zion said...and like shadow said, so if you see a game similar to mario's style, then it is most likely a platform game. platform relates to genre, not a specific console or something. today, the major platformers are mario, crash bandicoot, spyro and rayman. so if you see a game similar to that, like vexx for example, then it is most likey in the platform genre.

Platform games are games that consist of puzzle which often require you to hop on platforms. They also have item collecting, point acquiring and other things of the like.
