On Monday, the cover of the latest issue of Xbox World 360 was posted on French gaming site, jeux-france.com, and seemed to indicate a Halo 3 feature inside. Well, to clear things up, first, Xbox World 360 is a real magazine published by Future (the fifth largest magazine publisher in the UK). It was previously known as XboxGamer, but has been redesigned to meet demand for next-gen content. Each Xbox World 360 issue also comes bundled with a DVD.

However, in its pseudo-debut issue, Xbox World 360 does not contain any new details about Halo 3. The cover image refers to a 6-page feature that focuses on fan speculation. Neither the magazine nor the DVD contains screens, video, or even artists’ renders. So no, it wasn’t a hoax—but we still feel cheated…
