Usually give them a look through when I'm taking a dump.
Wish other people would too. Love having to explain how to do simple things like change weapons, or ready up in-game.
RIP Dave
For the most part, I look at the controller set-up and figure it out, but I will occasionally actually do the same thing as Duke. Toilet reading...you need something!
that's what i do too, or i'll read it on the bus on the way home from buying a new gameOriginally posted by DukeBuckhorn

I just glance them to see what buttons do what, but other then that I don't have a use for them. Has anyone actually used the "notes" section?

I was reading the post and thinking...either he sucks at typing or he is writing in slang that I don't understand (wich is entirely possible.)
As for the question, I only read them if it is an entirely new game to me (i.e. Prince of Persia, Slinter Cell, Morrowind, etc.) Games like PGR, Links 2004 and Tetris, I have never even removed the book from the cover.
I read 'em when I can't figure out how to do something in a game. For the most part, though, I just slap the game in and start screwing around to see what does what.
But eventually, I do read almost every manual to games I own, PC included.

whats a instruction manual?
Same here...I guess that makes 3...there's nothing better than pinching off a U-571 while thumbing through a gaming manual.Originally posted by JJaX

It's depend on what game you playing. But mostly, i play a little first then read the manual.
Back into the world of gaming.
Im glad someone caught on! :wink:Originally posted by Tim

I usually don't but sometimes there's that complex game you need to watch out for. IE: KOTOR, Kill Switch, Splinter Cell, etc...
I like to look through the manual just to look at what weapons are available to you. Most games all have the same config. Especially comp games (Rebindable keys! )
I read them for controller things and if I am confused about anything. The game usually explains it anyways, so it doesn't really matter.
And it is really good material when you are taking a dump.
